From the Beginning
The early years…
When Pastor Spence answered the call to pastor, he knew he was called to Pastor outside of the box. The first sign was when the Lord led him to start the church in the chapel of Williamson Mortuary in Riverdale, GA. Each week saints worshipped and grew as God prepared them for the second phase of ministry. During this time, the only operational ministries were the praise team, children’s church, and greeters.
Still believing that God had destined Global Impact for greatness, Pastor Spence pushed the saints to trust God that at the end of the three years, a change was sure to come. During those three years the church grew and with firm faith, in October 2009 GICM moved from the chapel to the 10+ acres at 125 Red Oak Road in Stockbridge, GA.
As we continue to grow and build the Kingdom, God continues to grow the vision of GICM. From the beginning, GICM has always embraced a “come as you are” dress code and less casual atmosphere. However, the will to carry out the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18:20) saturates the atmosphere.
GICM is the church where you will learn, have fun and your life will change. All you need is a pen, a pad, and a praise!
The growth of GICM and the Kingdom is based upon the work completed by the Saints-God’s chosen people. Scripture states that God will give us Pastors after His own heart. (Jeremiah 3:15) Along with that, you will become a Shareholder of the body of Christ that will work to make a difference in the lives of those around you. (Matthew 10:37-38) As you work and strengthen your relationship with God, He will reward you for your obedience. (Hebrews 11:6)
As you begin to invest in strengthening your relationship with God, remember that you are never alone. Through joining GICM God has provided you with an extended family to walk with you through the trials and joys of life. (Psalm 107:21, James 5: 13-16)
