Commitment vs. Interest
There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstances permit. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.
- Commitment is configured by ______________. My thoughts and words are the framework of my character. (Proverbs 4:23)
- Commitment is not based on ___________________ and _______________. Stay in your lane and run! (Hebrew 12:1-2)
- Commitment often causes you to leave the place of _________. Nothing happens until you leave the place of comfort. (Genesis 12:1-4)
- Commitment will always be revealed by your __________. Who and what are you committed to? (Joshua 24:14-15)
- Commitment is often reflected by how you utilize your ________. Show me where you spend your money and I will show you what you are committed to. (Matthew 6:21)
- Commitment is only genuine when it is accompanied with ___________. (Matthew 9:35-38)
- Commitment will never allow you to become ________________. (Philippians 3:12-14)
When working in ministry, you must always remember that it is never about us. Everything we do is about God, His plan for the Kingdom, and His plan for our lives. The gifts, talents, and abilities that lie within us are to be used to advance our professional and personal lives. (Proverbs 18:16). However, ultimately the purpose of our gifts, talents, and abilities is to glorify God and build the kingdom.
