9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

Salvation is a gift from God through his grace and mercy. All you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confess this belief with your mouth. II Corinthians 5:17, states that if anyone is in Christ he or she is a new creation. The old things pass away, and all things become new. God has forgiven you for your sins and has given you a brand new start.
