What is fasting and why do we do it?

Fasting is a spiritual discipline where we give up food for a specific time and purpose. When the Holy Spirit calls you to fast, He is preparing you for what’s ahead. It gives us an open and receptive mind for what God wants to do in and through us so that we’re in position to advance in the kingdom of God.
Fasting brings us closer to God, to hear His instruction, and get clarity in what He wants us to do. It prepares us for a new anointing that removes burdens and destroys the yolks.

Our Main Scripture

Matthew 17:20-21 (AMP)

He answered, “Because of your little faith [your lack of trust and confidence in the power of God]; for I assure you and most solemnly say to you, [a]if you have [living] faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and [if it is God’s will] it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 [b][But this kind of demon does not go out except by prayer and fasting.]”

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
